A few words

About me

Hi, I'm Tomasz — a Software Engineer based in Poland, working mostly within the JVM ecosystem (Java, Spring Boot) on backend systems and cloud infrastructure. I recently completed my Master's degree and I'm currently diving deeper into AI.

Outside of code, I run. A lot. I'm chasing half-marathon and marathon goals (maybe IronMan one day), hitting the gym and constantly looking for that sweet spot between endurance and strength. Fitness isn't just a hobby — it's how I start every day.

I'm equally passionate about food. I love cooking, experimenting in the kitchen (sourdough bread is a recurring character), discovering new cafes, and tasting speciality coffee wherever I go. If there's an interesting restaurant or a hidden-gem coffee spot nearby, I'll find it.

Numbers don't stop at code for me. I spend a good chunk of my free time tracking stock markets, exploring the crypto landscape, and reading up on investment strategies. Building wealth feels like another engineering problem — just with higher stakes and no compiler to catch your mistakes.

When I'm not coding, running, lifting or eating, you'll probably find me walking my dog, tinkering with side projects, or writing about tech and life on my blog at tchlebek.dev.

Fun fact: my surname "Chlebek" means "little bread" in Polish — so the sourdough baking was probably destiny.
